In
the past decade horticulture
in Korea has made great
progress and the standard
of living in Korea has improved.
According to the KABG
(Korean Association of Botanical
Gardens and Arboreta) there
are 29 institutions registered
to conserve Korean native
plants as well as those
of other countries under
the rules of Ex-site and
In-site.
As
it has been in the past,
Chollipo not only has encouraged
people to love plants but
it has contributed many
plants annually through
the Index Seminum within
and outside of Korea. Now
we are able to look back
40 years and reflect on
our past. We will
extend our work with new
projects such as public
education, a training program,
and publishing a plant guide
book beginning this year
and completing the project
next year. We hope
the general public and students
are willing to participate
with our plant education
program and the book is
received well.
We
are still trying to keep
our arboretum looking good
all year around and invite members
to come and enjoy the beauty
that Chollipo offers with
its peaceful nature.
We
are expecting spring blossoms
with fantastic color matches,
especially the Magnolias
that bloom in April.
We
have paid great attention
to the development of our
homepage. You can
look at our visual arboretum
in 4 seasons and get some
plant information as well
as the latest news of Chollipo.
We are open for any
comments and suggestions
that you might have which
will be helpful for an even
better future of Chollipo.
We
hope that anyone who visits
our web site will have great
fun looking at it and enjoy
the digital arboretum of
Chollipo.
